What is Totoro?
Totoro is a character in an animation movie, ‘My Neighbor Totoro’, which is very famous in Japan, written and directed by HayaoMiyazkai and produced by Studio Ghibli. It was the story about two sisters, daughters of a professor. It was released and won many awards in 1988. In 1989, this film was exclusively dubbed for foreign flights by Japan Airlines. The dubbed version was produced by Streamline Pictures, an American media company, which was the first company to dub the animation into English. This film was released to the theatres of United States in 1993. In 1994, it was released on videos and DVDs by Fox videos.
Movie Re-release
Since the licence for dub got expired on 2004, Walt Disney Home Entertainment produced a new version of the film with different dub voices and it was released on March 7, 2005. Recently it was also released on cable TV.
